HomeKit Secure Video for Surveillance Cameras
HomeKit has a feature that can work with surveillance cameras called Secure Video. When it detects motion, the camera will send a live video to your hub (such as an iPad, Apple TV, or HomePod). The hub analyzes the footage and determines whether there is a person, animal, package, or vehicle.

Before the footage shoots off to the big iCloud in the sky, your hub processes the footage and can determine if the motion was caused by people, pets or cars. You can also set up activity zones that ignore or record specific areas within the camera’s view.
When motion is detected, the camera records a clip that you can watch in the Home app at home kit cctv any time. The Home app timeline is split into different events with unique symbols for people, animals or cars, which makes it easy to find a recorded event. You can even turn on Package Detection to get alerts when a delivery arrives, provided the package is in your camera or video doorbell’s field of view.
