AHD Camera – The Perfect Solution For Upgrading Existing CCTV Systems
AHD cameras are the perfect solution for upgrading existing CCTV systems on coax cable. Using video baluns, they can transmit at up to 500 meters depending on the quality of the coax cables used.
AHD technology uses the same BNC cable for power and feed to the DVR so that the system can be upgraded gradually rather than all at once. Currently, AHD supports HD 720p and upcoming 4MP & 5MP.
Improved Resolution
AHD technology can achieve high definition video transmission with existing analog transmission line, it adopts advanced Y/C signal separation and simulation filtering technology to effectively reduce color noise in the high frequency area, image reducibility is better. Its maximum transmission distance is 500 meters over traditional 75-3 coaxial cable.
AHD cameras offer 720P resolution which is much higher than standard CCTV. This makes them ideal for upgrading your current surveillance system to HD and for reversing camera systems in vehicles. They also come with a host of additional features such as IR LED (Infrared Light Emitting ahd camera price Diode) illumination for low-light conditions, WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE and BLC for improved shooting in bright areas with dark backgrounds.
Unlike IP cameras which require their own dedicated ethernet infrastructure, AHD can be run over traditional coaxial cable using video baluns. This allows you to use your existing infrastructure and saves time and money.
This makes it ideal for commercial vehicle driver monitoring applications where a high-resolution camera is required to help deter driver errors caused by drowsiness, inattention and distraction. Many AHD cameras are also able to be fitted with GPS which can help monitor and record the physiological state of your drivers, helping you to curb drowsiness and other issues on the road. This feature is particularly useful for larger fleets of vehicles and can be used to track the location of your trucks, buses and more.
Better Clarity
AHD cameras have an advantage over wireless cameras in that if an intruder wanted to interfere with the camera they would need to physically cut or disconnect all of the cables running from it. This is a risk that many will be reluctant to take, especially as most AHD cameras are connected to power and CCTV cable which would provide a strong signal that intruders will detect. This makes it difficult for intruders to manipulate or interfere with any of your security cameras which is one reason why ahd is an excellent option for commercial fleets.
In addition to being able to run high definition video over existing coax cable, ahd is also very inexpensive and easy to install. The technology is compatible with most current analog CCTV recorders and can be introduced gradually to existing systems so that the upgrade doesn’t need to be done all at once. You can even use special CCTV combined cables which combine both coax and power in a single jacket, or alternatively you can connect your AHD cameras to an AHD hybrid DVR to get all the digital functions of IP camera systems.
Many of these AHD security cameras also feature built-in night vision. This means they can capture imagery in low light conditions without using a supplementary LED or IR lamp, which makes them particularly useful for commercial vehicles. Some even come with GPS, allowing you to track the location of your fleet at all times. This is ideal for driver monitoring, which can help to prevent accidents and loss of cargo caused by drowsiness or inattention while driving.
Longer Distances
AHD cameras can be run up to a distance of 800 feet over coaxial cable. This is much longer than the maximum cable distance that HD-SDI can transmit video over. In addition, the cameras can be connected to a recorder using standard RG59 Siamese cable or twisted pair with video baluns (for CAT5 cables).
AHD is able to send uncompressed HD video over the same coaxial cable that is currently used in many homes ahd camera for TV and security camera systems. This means that it is possible to upgrade your existing CCTV system to HD CCTV without having to replace your existing cables.
Additionally, unlike IP cameras, the AHD camera does not require an internet connection to operate. This makes it much less vulnerable to interference. In order to interfere with the system, intruders would need to physically cut the cable or break the power outlet.
Most AHD cameras also have built-in audio with Audio-Over-Coax technology, which can transmit the audio signal over the same wire as the video. This eliminates the need to run an additional pair of wires for the audio, which can be a significant time savings and makes the installation process easier. Some AHD cameras come with a 3.6 or 2.8 mm lens for a wide-angle view, while others have an adjustable lens that can be adjusted to cover a narrower angle of vision.
Better Compatibility
If you have traditional analog security cameras, replacing them with high-resolution models can be costly as you also need to replace the infrastructure and all the coaxial cables. With HD-TVI, HD-CVI and AHD, you can upgrade to these new cameras while keeping the existing infrastructure without incurring the high cost of a complete replacement project.
This video format is also very easy to work with. Installation can be done in a very short time as there is no need for extra power or network cables as the camera can transmit all data over the existing coaxial cable. This allows you to save a lot of money as it is less expensive and more practical than installing an IP network.
The new AHD camera also has features like Digital Wide Dynamic Range (HDR), which is extremely helpful for challenging lighting conditions. It helps to balance the brightness of dark areas and lighten up the highlights so you can still see important details. This is an important feature especially for commercial drivers, where they are faced with a lot of challenges in low or no light driving situations.
The AHD camera can be connected to a Digital Video Recorder, also known as DVR, which will digitize the analog signals and record them on a hard disk. The DVR will also be able to perform all the digital functions of an IP system like remote control and monitoring via internet. Some of these cameras can also be connected to Smart Displays that offer touchscreen controls.
