12 Volt 2 Pin Waterproof Connector

Use a 12 volt 2 pin waterproof connector to eliminate the need for electrical tape and make quick, reliable connections in outdoor applications. This type of waterproof power connector is polarized to ensure that the positive and negative connections cannot be crossed.

Heilind stocks TE Connectivity’s eco|mate Aquarius waterproof connectors that are ideal for harsh-environment wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connections in indoor and outdoor environments. The IP67-rated waterproof and dust-proof connectors provide excellent protection against contaminants.

Waterproof

This waterproof connector features a female panel mount socket and male plug that snap together to produce an anti vibration proof connection. The plug cover skirt prevents water from getting into the male receptacle and a vinyl opening cap keeps it dust proof when not in use.

It is used for marine, solar panel and weather exposed connections. The pins are marked 1 and 2 for Plus (+) and Minus (-). It has a maximum current rating of 20A and is water resistant. It mounts in a panel up to 1-1/4″ thick with the backing nut and has rubber seals on all connections and mount.

The waterproof connectors are easy to install – no soldering or tape required. Internal compression gaskets and o-rings combine with a positive locking, bayonet mating ring on the male connector to securely attach the connectors together while maintaining a water tight seal around the cable.

These waterproof wire terminals are a great solution for harsh environment, outdoor and marine applications. They provide water and dust proof protection and feature a compact design to save space in the harness. They are made of high strand count oxygen free copper wires with PA66 nylon, providing good conductivity and ensuring durability in harsh environments. They are also flame retardant, aging and acid and alkali resistant.

Temperature Resistance

Designed for use in harsh environments, the connector is able to withstand 12 volt 2 pin waterproof connector exposure to extreme temperatures and conditions. This makes it the perfect connector for outdoor applications such as boating, camping and work lighting. The waterproof connectors feature a seal that protects against moisture, dust and dirt to ensure the integrity of the connections. The polarized, shrouded connectors are also resistant to vibration and shock for added peace of mind.

A series of internal compression gaskets and o-rings combine with a positive locking, bayonet mating ring on the male connector to securely attach the connectors together while maintaining a water-tight seal around the cable. They are easy to assemble in the field – only a soldering iron and wire cutters are required. The internal seals compress to fully seal the cable as it exits the connector, eliminating the need for additional waterproofing.

This waterproof 12 volt 2 pin connector is suitable for powering 12v and switched ground from our Tesla Battery Module BMS controller through a weather proof enclosure. It is compatible with our panel mount connector socket (product code P02069) and is rated up to 20A / 500V.

Each terminal features a thick tinned copper barrel that allows for strong secure crimping and resists cracking when incorrectly crimped. This allows for maximum current flow, minimal voltage drop and 4 pin panel mount connector reduces heat production. The connectors are also insulated with a plastic casing that prevents damage and corrosion to the terminals. The insulating material is also flame retardant, anti-aging and acid and alkali resistant.

High Amp Capacity

The waterproof connection is perfect for connecting solar panels, electrical lighting and other outdoor devices that are exposed to the elements. The connector can handle a maximum current of 20A when connected to a compatible plug or receptacle.

The connector uses a bayonet mating ring and internal gaskets that compress to seal off the connection. The connectors are easy to assemble in the field and require only a soldering iron and wire cutters.

Each pin is rated for 7.5 amps. If you have a device that draws more current than the pins can handle, you can use a breakout link to distribute the load across multiple pins. This prevents overheating and ensures that each individual pin can safely carry the full rated current.

The receptacle and cover have an ingress protection rating of IP67. They can be used at 12V or 24V DC and have a maximum current rating of 20A. They can be mounted in a panel that is 1-1/4″ thick using the backing nut. The cover has a waterproof seal and the plug is covered with a weather-resistant plug cap. The terminals are made from corrosion-resistant, plated brass. This allows them to withstand high DC currents and protect against moisture, dust, dirt, oil, and chemicals. The terminals are crimped with a special tool that provides a secure, reliable connection and minimizes voltage drop, heat loss, and short circuits.

Versatile

A waterproof connector prevents the ingress of moisture that can damage components and affect functionality. Although many electrical connectors are splashproof, they may not be enough when the equipment is submerged in liquid or subjected to heavy impact. A waterproof connector offers a more robust level of protection, and it is easy to assemble.

Waterproof connectors, when paired with a custom circular connector cable, serve as pillars of resilience in a wide range of applications and industries. They are critical in underground installations, outside equipment and complex machinery, where compliance with IP-rated specifications is paramount. They also help ensure uninterrupted data transmission in environments where exposure to moisture, temperature fluctuations and other environmental factors are non-negotiable.

Deutsch connectors, which are available in a variety of pin counts and configurations, are the go-to choice for automotive, marine and work lighting products that need to be exposed to weather elements. They feature rugged thermoplastic housings, can operate in a wide range of temperatures and have corrosion-resistant nickel or gold-plated copper contact pins. They are easy to assemble in the field and are designed for high resistance against shocks, vibrations, impacts and various pressures.

However, they are not suitable for applications where the connector is likely to be repeatedly plugged and unplugged. They tend to leak and corrode if the contacts are not regularly cleaned and lubricated with anti-corrosion grease. They can also break if they are forcefully pushed together incorrectly, which is common when connecting the connectors to devices such as electric winches and mast lights.
