It eliminates a step in the connecting process by allowing you to skip the insulation stripping. Simply insert the wire until you can see the other end, then push down on the blue button with pliers and pull it backwards to create a permanent and watertight connection. The connector is filled with a mineral oil-based grease to safeguard against moisture. It is UV resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 221 degrees F.
3M Performance Plus Wire Connectors offer easy insertion with no stripping required and have generous room for expansion to accommodate a wide range of solid or stranded copper conductors. The flexible skirt prevents copper exposure for enhanced safety and helps protect against potential flashovers. These waterproof connectors are available in five different color/wire range combinations and UL Listed for 600 volts on copper wire.

The 3M(tm) Scotchlok(tm) Insulation Displacement Connector 314, also known as an IDC, simply snaps shut without stripping or twisting the wire. It is flame retardant and moisture resistant. It withstands temperatures up to 221 degrees Fahrenheit. These connectors are ideal for use in underground applications.
They are equipped with a unique ‘U’ contact that provides a quick and dependable electrical connection. This contact is driven down into the connector and grasps conductors as it displaces insulation. It is filled with a mineral oil based 3m waterproof wire connectors grease to protect against moisture. They are easy to identify, UL Listed and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.

The wire connector has two ports for straight splicing copper conductor combinations of 19-26 AWG. It has a flexible skirt to help reduce copper exposure for increased safety. This kit is UL Listed for underground and direct bury applications.
